Role Overview:
As Director of Manufacturing Technical Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of manufacturing for production including overseeing all manufacturing partners’ production activities, ensuring all production processes are operating to the defined KPIs, overseeing all manufacturing process flow sign-off, equipment selection, ongoing process validation, equipment capacity, preventive maintenance and root cause analysis of in-process failures.

What you'll do:

  • Work cross-functionally with the optical, process, electrical and mechanical engineering teams to understand the technical requirements of our products and ensure the manufacturing process flow and equipment are process capable and able to meet design intent, and define production process KPIs for each step and across manufacturing sites
  • Manage a global team to lead the production efforts and daily build management at our manufacturing partners sites, and analyze and solve technical problems in manufacturing including failure analysis, process engineers, and operations
  • Ensure all production processes are operating to the defined KPIs and lead the build management of production at our global manufacturing partners
  • Identify process improvements and work cross-functionally and with our manufacturing partners to develop equipment and/or processes to remove constraints and/or improve product quality
  • Develop and optimize critical manufacturing processes to improve yield, quality, performance and cost
  • Correlate failure activity and drive root cause corrective actions with manufacturing and engineering teams
  • Set tactical daily/weekly goals and drive operations and engineering teams to meet these goals
  • Set strategic 1-3-5 year manufacturing equipment plan and CapEx forecast modeling to meet forecast requirements
  • Develop critical to quality/cost/delivery/safety metrics

What you have:

  • 10+ years of leading Manufacturing Operations for optical products
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate and drive solutions across all organizations
  • Excellent leadership and organizational abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering related field or equivalent experience

Nice to have:

  • Post graduate degree in Business or Engineering related field
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 15% based on business needs
