Aeva is building the next generation of sensing and perception for autonomous vehicles and beyond. With its unique ability to measure instantaneous velocity for each pixel, long-range performance at high resolutions, while being free from LiDAR or sunlight interference, Aeva’s 4D LiDAR is built from the ground up at silicon photonics scale for mass-market applications.

Role Overview:
The SRE position plays a key role as the spearhead of Aeva’s support team. As an SRE you will keep watch over Aeva’s digital jungle. You will repel wild services and tame rampaging logs, all while providing the most excellent customer support! Your day-to-day will go something like: Add servers to the monitoring system. Fix a user issue. Call a vendor for support. Create or update documentation. Verify a build is working in Jenkins. Change the default VLAN of a network port. Build a server. Interact with DevOps. Write or update an Ansible playbook.

What you'll be doing:

  • NOC
  • Administrating and validating systems and data backups
  • Troubleshooting servers, Jenkins, server applications, etc…
  • Server builds and break fix
  • Server rack and stack (lift 50lbs)
  • Cable Management
  • Basic networking troubleshooting
  • Python, *nix shell (bash, zsh, etc.), or PowerShell scripts
  • On-Call rotation
  • Working with Ansible and Ansible playbooks
  • Documentation

what you have:

  • Passion, overall love of learning
  • A true passion for automating and troubleshooting
  • Deep understanding of Linux, (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS)
  • Hands-on experience with JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket (git), etc…
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible
  • Experience with monitoring platforms such as Check_MK/Nagios type systems
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, VMWare, and Docker Engine
  • An understanding of Jenkins
  • A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Excellent communication skills

Nice to have:

  • A good understanding of Kubernetes
  • Technical writing skills
  • Experience with Jenkins pipelines
  • A deep understanding of Jenkins and Jenkins plugins
